Benjamin Cuiffo, PhD

Senior Director, Head of Translational Development

Ben leads translational development and Tangram, leveraging his extensive experience advancing RNAi and oligonucleotide therapeutic programs from target validation through IND/CTA approval and early clinical evaluation. His work bridges disease biology, pharmacology, mechanism-of-action research, DMPK/PD, toxicology, and biomarker strategy to translate nonclinical evidence into clinical development decisions.

Ben previously served as Director of Preclinical Research and Development at Phio Pharmaceuticals, where he led preclinical, nonclinical, and translational R&D for first-in-class RNAi immunotherapy programs from development candidate nomination through regulatory submissions and Phase 1b clinical studies. He also held leadership roles at Biomodels, directing preclinical efficacy, translational biomarker, and disease-modeling programs across multiple therapeutic modalities. Ben earned his PhD in Molecular and Cell Biology from Brandeis University and completed postdoctoral training at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Harvard Medical School.
