Jörn M. Schattenberg is a Professor of Medicine and Director of the Department of Medicine II at the Saarland University Medical Center in Homburg and the University of the Saarland in Germany. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology & Hepatology and Infectious Disease. His research focuses on translational sciences and clinical trials in Hepatology with a focus on new technologies, biomarker research and drug development.-Professor Schattenberg serves as the chair of the scientific committee of the United European Gastroenterologists (UEG) and is an Associate Editor of JHEP Reports.
