Lee Clewley, PhD

Lee is VP, Applied AI and Informatics at Tangram Therapeutics. He leads the integration of AI into Tangram’s discovery engine, reshaping how medicines are discovered and developed. Formerly head of GSK’s Applied AI group, he created pioneering platforms including the agent-based operating system Jules and DeepFISH, designed to accelerate biopharma pipelines. With expertise spanning predictive models, large language models, and agentic AI, Lee brings a pragmatic, cross-functional approach to drug discovery. He holds a PhD in Astrophysics from Imperial College London, serves on the Royal Statistical Society’s AI platform editorial board, and contributes to AI and ML course development at Imperial.
